Currently I’m planning, ordering seeds, prepping the hoop house and chatting with few brides.

The potted amaryllis and paper whites can’t be in the cold for long, they’re not supposed to freeze! If you stop by and they’re not there, call or beep 😆

I have doors, they’re not hung yet. Obviously.

Your “Self Serve Holiday” decor is almost ready! Village Grown will open Friday November 28th 12:00 - 7:00 pm for three weeks of nature inspired designs!

Wreaths, planters, potted paper whites and amaryllis, ornaments and decorations will be available at our self serve stand or you can contact Maria for special orders.

Evergreen wreaths with dried florals, unique planters with natural elements and a focus on a Nature Inspired Holiday!

We have a new farm hand to celebrate, meet George, little brother to Peter, who fills our time with sweetness and joy!

I feel so very supported by our Cross Village/Harbor Springs community.

The 2025 season is my transition year, from market and design work to the farm stand and reduced designing. It feels good. And scary.

Sometimes I feel bad that the flower shed isn’t finished, that my variety of flowers is reduced, that it’s so darn hot everything is in shock, including me.

But then I get requests for anniversary bouquets. From a couple of dear young men.

One a former student, a wonderful hard working entrepreneur, buying flowers for his wife, setting the great example for his children on how to celebrate their family.

The other, a young man celebrating a 2nd anniversary dating, with dinner at Legs Inn and sunset at Sturgeon Bay.

I am grateful.

Smile today.

The best in farm help showed up this morning.

This is why I plant less, grow less flowers.

This is why I no longer sell at Harbor Springs Farmers Market, although I miss my pals.

Helping to grow Peter (and a brother due in September!) is the best use of my time.

So . . . . the flower nook is almost done, ready enough for flowers now.

My plan is to offer flowers, bunches, bouquets and vases Wednesday-Saturday 12-8 pm.

Of course special orders don’t upset us 😉

We have a new farm “hand” that’s all feet. Cosmos is 10 weeks of love, he’s a sweet lab full of mischief. That’s slowed things down a bit, but I love it!

Swing on by and watch the Village Grown Flower Nook slowly get completed.

I’m fine with the pace, let me know if you need a bit of floral love.

Good help arrives every Monday! Little Peter loves machines, especially Grandma’s electric tiller. Helping spread dirt as well!

Still a few blooms to harvest, just for me and the family now.

Zinnias breeding year 3, can’t wait to see what the bees, bugs and butterflies have created next season!

Lucky to see a few spectacular light shows this fall, I truly appreciate how small yet connected they make me feel.
